What Happened Health officials have linked a Salmonella outbreak to contaminated eggs sold in parts of the United States.
Number of Illnesses So far, 63 people have fallen sick, and 13 have been hospitalized after consuming contaminated eggs. No deaths have been reported.
Company Involved The outbreak has been traced to eggs produced by Vega Farms, Inc., based in California.
Egg Recall Issued The company has issued a voluntary recall of affected eggs after tests confirmed Salmonella contamination.
Recalled Egg Details The recalled eggs include: – Brown eggs – Handler Code 2136 – Sell-by date December 22, 2025 or earlier – Sold in cartons and bulk flats
Where They Were Sold The eggs were distributed to: – Grocery stores – Restaurants – Farmers’ markets – Food co-ops Mainly in Northern California.
Health Risk Salmonella infection can cause: – Diarrhea – Fever – Stomach cramps Symptoms usually appear within a few days of exposure.
